Put the cake in the freezer for at least 5 hours so it hardens. I'd recommend putting it in the freezer overnight if you are to move the cake somewhere remote. If you don't give it enough time it may collapse and the last thing you want your recipient of the cake to see is it being all squished and jumbled right?
