[FIXED] Windows Computer Cannot See My iPhone's Photo & Video Folder

Amazon When you plug your iPhone into your Windows computer or laptop, you expect to be able to see your iPhone's internal storage, or the DCIM folder. How come it's not there? What do you have to do in order to manage your iPhone's photos and videos on your Windows computer? When you connect your iPhone to your Windows computer, all it does is charging. No popup ever shows on the computer or on the iPhone. What's happening? How do I get the pop-up that asks me to authorize the computer?

I use a Windows 10 laptop and an iPhone 6S.

First let's talk about what you do NOT need to do. You do NOT need to install iTunes AT ALL. Period. Or at least not so in the time of the writing.

Let's read on to see how you can view the photos and videos on your iPhone on your Windows PC.

Connect

Connect your iPhone to the computer using a USB cable. I am sure you've already done that.

Check your cable

This is the key to making it work. Check your cable to see if it's an authentic Apple USB cable. You need an authentic Apple cable that connects your iPhone to your computer to make it work.

If you use a third party cable you may only be able to use it for charging.

If it still doesn't work reboot

Reboot your PC and iPhone and try again.
