Amazon If you are a blogger on Google's Blogger platform you probably have run into the same issue I've run into - Press "Enter" for line breaks does not work for some posts.
When you are creating a new post click on Options in the right hand side panel. Under Line breaks you see two options:
1. Use <br> tag
2. Press "Enter" for line breaks
You select Press "Enter" for line breaks. You write your post and click on Publish button and guess what. When you view the post the line breaks are messed up. When you edit the post you see that the line breaks you created earlier are all gone.
Read on to see how to fix this issue.
Root Cause
In my case the problem was caused by including the <applet> tag because I had to include Java applets to allow visitor to play a virtual Rubik's cube on How To Solve the Rubik's Cube.
If I had to take a guess I'd say it's a bug on Blogger's side. They should've handled any type of HTML tag gracefully.
Solution
Once I remove the applet tag altogether the problem is gone. Therefore look through your post and remove any unusual HTML tags and see if it fixes the problem.
However I still would like to have my applet tag in my post. So the real solution is I select Use <br> tag under Line breaks in Options section and I insert <br/> where necessary throughout my post. Then publish and the line breaks are good.
I know it's a hassle to put <br/> manually but it's the only solution I've found so far. If you've found a better solution let us know!
